Where to begin?!

Wow, I'm not ever sure where to begin with this! It has been so long since I last posted, and so very much has happened. I've just been so busy, and we don't have the internet at home. I usually use the laptop at lunch when I'm up at Nate's office, but with the end of semester, Nate was so busy too. Anyway, no more excuses, let's get on with our life of the last month. Nate (my pie loving husband) and I decided to throw a pie night (everyone brings a pie and you just come and eat pie all night long) the monday before Thanksgiving. We had a lot of people show up, and we had tons of fun.

Here's what was left at the end of the evening. So much pie!!!

Thanksgiving weekend we traveled a lot visiting family all over the place. The day after the holiday, Nate's group of friends from high school had planned a get together in Preston. So we had a mini-reunion with spouses. It was pretty fun to watch old videos and hear funny stories. Nate had a good time reuniting with people he hadn't visited with for a long time.

The crew-plus spouses, minus mine (he's taking the pic).

Of course, on saturday we attended the International Bed Races (I really don't know why they are called that) on main street Preston, the Festival of Lights Parade, and The Festival. It's quite the tradition. The bed races were my fave, and I'm determined to make a Fuller team for next year.

Unfortunately, I didn't get any pics of the races cause I was too enthralled with the awesomeness of the racing.

My lovely little nephew is quite obsessed with vegetables. He loves to pick them out at the store and bring them home for Grandpa. One night, while visiting at my mom's house, Trayson wanted to show me and Nate all his new vegetables.

He then insisted on watching tv with all of his veggies next to him.

At the beginning of December, my good friend Tosha and her husband (they are officially the best holiday party throwers I know) had a gingerbread making party. Each ocuple was provided a box of graham crackers, a can of frosting, then we all had brought a type of candy to contribute. We had so much fun building our home; most the other couples were just laughing at us. Nate, the engineer, was trying to create a stable graham cracker home and I just demanded all of the extras ( a front porch, a chimney, etc). Nate's such a good sport, he puts up with his pushy wife. But our house turned out fantastic!

Look at my cute front door and stairs! That's my favorite part.

I think it was a good team building, marriage strengthening activity! He still loves me.

This semester has been really tough on the both of us; Nate because it was his second to last semester in the master's program and his classes were jsut downright hard and time consuming, and tough on me cause I didn't have a husband! He survived, and did so well! He got all A's this semester, and I was just so proud I could cry! I suppose the awful semester was worth it, he worked so hard. The weekend after his finals, Nate left me again for a few days while he flew out to California for a job interview. He absolutely loves the job (building and testing weapons, figuring out how to make stuff blow up better-every boy's dream), but isn't completely convinced on the living. THe company is called NAVAIR and the town is called China Lake. It's in the middle of the Mohave Desert, right next to Death Valley. Sounds lovely, eh? His main concern is that he thinks he would melt in the summer. We'll see, I guess. It's not something we have to think about for a little while, and there are a lot of other options.

Nate would like to share what he looked at for 9 hours:

The LA Airport

He thought he had a really professional looking shot here.

THis is the itty bitty airplane that flew him to China Lake. There was about 12 people on the plane, and it had propellers.
Here is the city of Ridgecrest, which is where we would live. (it's very small, Nate says it really has the same kind of feel as Logan.)Impressive. I feel comforted knowing my husband was in a safe place. (This airport looks like an old warehouse in ogden!)Yep, that's the whole airport. Pretty spectacular.Nate took this picture to show me, yes there are mountains in china lake, and yes, they even have snow on them in the winter.

Well, I wanted to post before Christmas because I'm sure I will have a big post after this week! We are so excited to spend so much time together and with our families for the next week. MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!

Twilight Night!!

Yes, that's right. Last Friday was spent Twilighting. My coworkers and I went straight from work to go stand in line for the 7pm showing (for which we bought tickets like 3 weeks ago), and we came prepared.

We ate homemade pizza while standing in line. Here we are, little ducks in a row.Shanell is just so excited right now she can't even stand it (actually, she had never read the books before, but we forced her into it. She just enjoyed mocking all of the crazies!!).This is my very favorite picture, because we didn't know Irene brought this in, and then Shanell and I just here the "swish" of a pop bottle opening and we look over and what do you know?! Irene is whipping out the drinks! I loved it so much.

And then, to top off our fabulous little meal, the delicious brownies. Yes, we had an entire pan of brownies in the theatre. I'm pretty sure those movie staff workers were just choosing their battles, because it felt like there were just no rules that night. I'm sure they knew better than to get a bunch of women riled up before the movie. What a fantastic night! I haven't had this much fun in a really long time, my face hurt at the end of the night from laughing so hard; it was a girl's night above all others.

To answer your big question, of course I loved the movie, yes, I went and bought the soundtrack immediately after the show, yes, I hope to see it again in theatre, and yes, I will buy the movie when it comes out. Nate wants a shirt that says "My marriage survived the Twilight series." Thanks, girls, for such an awesome night o'fun!

7. Does he have a nickname for you? Babe, Sar, Love

Week in Review

Last week was so busy for us, I am still trying to recover! We had something going every single night, and while I loved every minute of it, Nate has a lot to makeup for missed homework/study time. But atleast his wife was happy, right? What a nice husband for sacrificing some nights out for me.

Monday night my dear friend Tosha and her husband had planned a halloween family home evening. We went over to their place for yummy treats and carved pumpkins. There was a prize for best carved (which my artistic husband won, thank you very much), and we went to the pumpkin walk (yes again). Note to self, never go to the pumpkin walk on a monday evening again. We had a lot of fun chatting all night and acting like kids again, basically!
Can you guess which one was Nate's prizae winning pumpkin? Hey Stace, that one has a wonky eye!
Tosha and I being princesses, of course.
Here is Tosha's husband, Eric. Man, he makes a good yoda!

Tuesday night we went to the Jason Mraz concert with my old roomie, Robin and her hubby Brad. And thanks to Brad's brother it was totally free (which is why we went)!!! Robin and I had a blast singing all night, dancing in our seats, and oogling over Jason's sweet dance moves. our husbands said they had a good time, but you wouldn't know it by looking at them during the show. They both looked like bodygaurds, just standing there with their arms folded. Oh well, great night none the less! Jason Mraz was such an entertainer and he is incredible live! I highly recommend him in concert.
That's our friends, Robyn and Brad on the screen at the concert! She sent in the pic, and it got chosen. SO cool!!!

I did take video of Jason singing my very fave song, Lucky, but on the video you can mostly just here me singing, and I thought I'd spare everyone.

Wednesday I got the chance to babysit my nephews and niece. They were in town from cedar city for a funeral, and they came and hung out with me for a few hours during the viewing. I took them to the Blue/White Scrimmage game. It's the first scrimmage of the season open to the public, and it's a lot of fun to see the new bball team play for the first time. It's totally free, and all about free stuff. We had a blast trying to catch all the free giveaways, which we got quite a bit of. My friend Shanell came for awhile, and the kids loved her. Go Aggies!

Kolby, Addie, Landry, and Shanell
Addie getting her free Macey's ball autographed by Big Blue. Kolby had his autographed too, but he was too fast and I didn't get a picture.

Thursday my parents had to come to town for just a bit, so they came over to see our new house and we chatted for awhile. I really love just hanging out with them, funny people.

Friday (Happy Halloween!) was a party pretty much all day at work. Most of the office dressed up and we had trick or treaters for the afternoon. I love Halloween! I played scary music all day, and we even had the lights low in our office with orange lights all over. Who knew work could be such a good time?! My niece and nephews that were in town even surprised me and came to trick or treat with me at my office. That night, Nate and I had a jack-o-lantern pizza and went to the first exhibition game for bball that night, and Shanell and her lil bro came with us to. Nate and I really love the bball games; we think we call the shots for the team and know better than anyone what they're all about. It's my favorite. I still had my costume on cause I didn't have time to change from work, and Shanell didn't like that I was getting a lot of stares. Big Blue even came out of nowhere and kissed my hand during the game! Nate nearly had to beat him up. :) After the game, we met up with some friends to watch "a scary movie". Fire in the sky? Worst movie ever, I definitely would not reccomend it.

This was the view from my parking lot on Halloween morning. Besides it just being a gorgeous sunrise, it was totally orange!!! Perfect for Halloween.

These are my coworkers, Leslie, Irene, and Karen. We have way too much fun.

Irene was static cling, and she complained when she got to work that she couldn't rat her hair, so Shanell helped her. :0
My friend Robyn, who also works on campus, came over to show me her sweet action costume. She looked great, and what's even better she LOVES johnny depp.

This is everyone in my office that dressed up for Halloween. What a good looking bunch!
Here's Irene and her cute lil' family; her husband, Dan and her son, Oscar. Can you guess what Oscar was for Halloween?!? This was our dinner Halloween night. I thought it was so cute! It was the yummiest pumpkin I've ever had.

Saturday we went to the Aggie football game, of course, and what do you know, we won!!! Those games are always much more fun when we actually win. It was a beautiful day for football and we had a great time. We spent the evening with my sister and her fam since they were leaving the next day.

Sunday we went to my mom's and had dinner with nearly my entire family, minus one sister. That hasn't happened in ages! As crazy as my family is, I love spending time with them. You never know what's going to happen; it's always an adventure. Leaving late that night to come home to Logan, we were exhausted from such a busy week and here it was monday again already!

After lots of fun, we're back to normal life. Nate attended the Tech Expo yesterday on campus. It's where a bunch of companies show up to try and recruit. He got three immediate interviews setup for today and placed a ton of resumes. He's working really hard in school; we're more than halfway through the semester!! Thank goodness. I'm looking forward to The Twilight movie and the Holidays, so my hubby can be around more often. Looks like we might get some snow this weekend; it's freezing in Logan right now! (really, it's about 32 degrees) Gotta love it.

The annual pumpkin walk!

Every October, North Logan puts on the annual pumpkin walk and I love it! Last night, we went with my mom, my nephew Trayson, and my brother to enjoy the first night of festivities. Here are my favorite highlights:

Although it's a bit chilly in Logan at night at the end of October, we sitll had a good time. Trayson LOVES pumpkins, so it's a lot of fun to see him so excited about them. We began this tradition years ago, when my oldest nephew (who is 9 now!) was just a babe. It's lots of fun, and I just wish my other nephews and niece could come and enjoy as well. Hooray for the pumpkin walk!!

Random weekend o' lovely fun

This last weekend our good friends the Morby's invited us to go up to Bear Lake with them for a fun night sleepover at Callie's grandparent's condo. We were excited to get away for a mini vacation. Friday night, we went to Bear Lake Pizza to have the Ol' Ephraim Pizza. Pictures are the only way I can describe it.

We had very full bellies. It was 29" of absolute deliciousness. We obviously couldn't finish the pizza in one sitting and get our picture on the wall, but it was still way awesome and I would do it again in a heartbeat!!! It was quite possibly the best pizza I have ever had.

We spent all day saturday just playing and taking it easy. The lake was freezing, but wonderful still. We played with all of the shells on the bank, and threw rocks of course! We played volleyball, frisbee, lawn darts, etc. What a great way to relax and enjoy some beautiful fall weather.

Thanks Morby's!! We loved it. It was also our 2nd anniversary on sunday...man, how time flies when you're haing fun! We didn't really do anything to celebrate; Nate's busy with school. Maybe in december, or next semester, or maybe in the summer we will celebrate. :) Love you babe.
